Education is of paramount importance in establishing a knowledgeable, well balanced society. When people are faced with challenges in life they need skills and knowledge to equip them in making an informative decision; taking into account themselves, their loved ones as well as society. It is our jobs as educators to guide our children and give them the knowledge and means to be successful, have empathy and consideration for all; no matter what gender, age or race. As Nelson Mandela wrote in his book, A Long Walk to Freedom, “A good head and good heart are always a formidable combination. But when you add to that a literate tongue or pen, then you have something very special.” As educators this mammoth task is entrusted to us as we play the role of educating generations.

It is my privilege to be heading up a team of dedicated, motivated and caring teachers who take each individual’s needs and education to heart. As Maria Montessori said, “If education is always to be conceived along the same antiquated lines of a mere transmission of knowledge, there is little to be hoped from it in the bettering of man’s future. For what is the use of transmitting knowledge if the individual’s total development lags behind?” Keeping this in mind our teachers use various methods, styles of teaching and technologies to assist the children in reaching their full potential academically, socially, emotionally and physically. Every child is seen as an individual who has the potential to excel and be an asset to society. For a child to realise their true value and worth they need extrinsic and intrinsic motivation, which in turn will drive them to reach heights that they never envisaged. As the parents and teachers work together in the education of their child we see their true potential develop and a well rounded individual with confidence and self worth ready to greet and make their mark on the world. I always say aim high and dream big, and then make it your goal to surpass any obstacle you might find on your way. Before you know it you will have attained your goals and are ready to reach for the stars.

I look forward to maintaining the positive growth and high academic standards of Lifestyle Montessori Pre & Primary School, adding value to the development of the Sunninghill and surrounding communities. With the knowledge, confidence and self worth that the children have gained from their teachers, now and in the future, we can be certain that they will always fondly remember Lifestyle Montessori Pre & Primary School, where their ground roots were laid.
